I am a 35-year-old artist fond of folding fans and fan design since the age of 10. I've been creating entirely my prototypes and models from rough to finely polished materials.

To make the "montures" (frames), I handcraft a wide variety of natural materials such as bone, mother-of-pearl, horn, tortoiseshell, ivory, wood (essentially rosewood and ebony), as well as different types of metals.

I carry out on my own the numerous steps of fan making (a work which once required at least a dozen craftsmen). For each fan, I design the original shape, the motifs, while adding technical and mechanical innovations, painting, pleating as well as embroidery on the fan leaf, which can be made of silk, leather or paper...

Essentially inspired by the craft of Japanese origami,

I yearn to make of the folding fan not only a complete fashion "accessoire", but an "objet d'art".
